***Introduction***
Greetings! I am pleased to say once again that I am going to be putting my name in the hat for the upcoming CSM elections, CSM 12! It's still a bit early, so this thread will more than likely change as new updates and devblogs come out, but I wanted to get out there early and open myself up for questions, conversation, and pretty much anything!
This is my 3yr running, but for thoes who may not know me, let me go ahead and introduce myself! I have been playing Eve since 2011 (minus the one failed account in 2010 ... *close out tutorial* - *undocks* - *promptly gets killed by a rat and quits*). I found out about Eve from Eve Radio and from there other players and staff members helped me get the hang of things and from there I think the rest is history. I was hooked, it was unlike any other game that I have played and I just love it.
Being a active member of the community is something that I am proud of and because of it, I have gotten to meet so many amazing people and it really has become like a second family for me.
A couple of things about me ...
* DJ and Manager at Eve Radio under my alias "DJ Yumene" * The Soul Society Industrial and Logistics Director * Former DeepSpace Alliance Leadership / Sov Manager * Former DeepSpace Alliance Logistics Director * Broadcast4Reps Volunteer Moderator/Staff * Logistics Operator/Owner (DeepSpace Pony Ride) for The Methodical Alliance
I am overall a industrial focused player living in nul-sec sov. I am a miner, manufacturer, logistics pilot, and pretty much anything in between. I so like to say I have done a little bit of 'almost' everything as I have tried my share of different aspects of the game as well; from being a pirate, faction warfare, exploration, mission running, and small gang/large fleet PvP.
So this brings me here once again, asking for your support by placing your vote for me in the upcoming CSM 12 elections in 2017! I still have the passion and drive to wanting to give back to the community and help get our voices out there to CCP.
CSM 11, I was 'very' close to getting a spot on the current CSM, coming in at 15! I am still honored at the amount of support that I got and I hope that I can count on your support again this year again!
***Industrial Focus***
The industrial side of the game still seems to be the more under-appreciated. However I can't say that it isn't getting love, specifically with the number of changes and features that are going to be introduced - I feel that a strong industrial candidate is needed to get our voice out there - where the current CSM members are lacking and has been for the past couple terms.
***Ideas and Thoughts***
Here I'm going to be some of my ideas and thoughts about current topics that I'd love to bring up. There will be a few that I mention here that I also talked about in my thread from last year, however it's something that hasn't really been addressed either.
Planetary Interaction: PI is always going to be one of those things I feel is going to be brought up a bit I feel. I don't remember the last time that PI got any major overhaul, if ever. While it is a mostly passive task, it is still a painful one at that - specifically with all the damn clicking you have to do - and forbid you make a mistake and have to redo everything one by one. Here are some of my ideas:
- (1) Factory Plans/Templates: This would be a way to knock down the amount of clicking you have to do to set up your factories where you could essentially save a pre-set plan to lay them down. - (2) 'Move' Button: A simple move button that will allow you to simply move a structure around instead of having to decommission and then set it back up all over again. - (3) 3D Factory 'Pop-Up': Possibly shrink/remove this. Annoying to have your factories side by side and the 3D pop-up gets in the way of you trying to click the next one. - (4) Resources/Links: Create a possible button where after you set up links that will route the selected resource to all target factories that use that resource. Instead of having to do it one by one. (Example: Extractors set up to gather 'Base Metals' and routed to go to a storage facility. Select on the storage facility and select the base metals that are incoming, then on the bottom have a button called "Route All" which when clicked will create routes that go to all factories that has a schematic loaded requiring that resource - BOOM! One Click!).
Industrial Notification Love: Nearly everything in Eve has notifications, but why no industrial notification love? Indy job ready and needs to be delivered? No notice! PI extractors time runs out? No notification! Moon silo's getting full? No notifications! Where is the indy notification love?

PI is a good income, but it's still something that does need a major overhaul. Even when the changes I had proposed, there is still going to be a ton of clicking. I also don't feel that a few changes will change the income rates either.
Right now: You have 4-5 click to make just to set up a initial resource route, not to mention all the clicks to set up links and set up everything (buildings, schematics, ect). You are looking at around 2,000 and upwards to 10,000 clicks per account overall with the current system depending on what you are doing.
What I proposed won't be able to get rid of all the clicking, I don't think anything can. PI will, I feel, always will be the click-fest that it is. With that said tho, PI is also one of the areas that has been pretty much untouched for years, and it really is time for a overhaul - Time to upgrade!

Hey Judge! Thank you!
I do plan to keep at it and keep running until I can finally represent the community, and possibly for further terms. I don't give up easily that's for sure. I want to bring up your last point asking what my motivation is. It may sound cheesy, but Eve as a whole has helped me more than I can say. From when I first started with Eve Radio, my corp, my alliance, and the community as a whole. I have grown so much since I gotten to meet people and develop relationships - both online and in real life. Because of the people I have come across, I have been able to open up more than I have ever done before - and that's a lot for me as someone who suffers from crippling social anxiety where I have trouble even leaving the house.
Being able to have the opportunity to do something like this for the community would mean so much to me and it would be a way for me to 'give back' in a way. It's much deeper for me.
So I wanted to say that piece first and get that out there. I also understand that Steve for one is also a industry player, and I love Steve, he's incredible! But he's also focused on high-sec rather than my area, which is nul-sec. The others may have done industry/mining, but if I can recall it's not their main area.
Industry is about 95% of what I do (I have to leave the %5 open for the other stuff I do of course - pvp/pve ratting/ect). I agree 100% that this next term with all the industry features and changes coming that having strong industrial candidates will be a major bonus and even more needed.
If I could call to one thing for my platform ... I know I'm crazy and it most likely out of reach - Comet Mining! It's a topic that's been out there for a while and I have a habit of bringing it up at pretty much all my campaigns so far, and you gave me the perfect opportunity to do so again! Thank you! (See: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=331766 )
Within my corp, I am one of the industry directors and we run one of the main Capital production services for the alliance, and yes, I do help with this. We have built ... off the top of my head, 3 titans, and I believe almost 10 supers. The only thing I haven't done in that part is actually pushing the button to start the titan builds (which I am actually training for now! I will be able to do this in 20 days! I have been sitting on level 4 for ages because capital ship production 5 is a pain in the butt - I WILL PUSH THAT BUTTON!) - so in answer to your question as to being able to represent the higher end industrial players - yes, I do feel I will be able to represent the higher end indy players.
As for where? Well, I can't really give that out - I'm sure you know why

I absolutely agree that the PI stuff does need an overhaul. Not an unbalance or overbalance, just an overhaul. The PI UI system sucks, decommissioning sucks, and there hasn't been anything NEW in years.
PI does need a major overhaul, yes! It really has been years since anything was really done with PI.

Sullen Decimus wrote:I'm sorry but this is insulting for me. Consider I made a very public article discussing the changes to the mining command ships and a very large portion of which made it in the final product. If you would like to bring up industry specifically I was/am in weekly and sometimes daily discussions with devs about numerous industry topics. I would also like to point out this post which SPECIFICALLY mentioned the CSM having an impact on the Engineering Complexs which are about as industry as you can get. Furthermore two members on the CSM are literally the logistical leaders for the largest alliance in the game. I'm sorry that industry isn't getting the amount of updates to it you would like to see, but to say it's no getting "any love" or lacking is insulting to the current CSM and their efforts.
That is definitely not how I wanted it to come out. Was poorly worded on my part (which I have went back to try to word it better). Sorry about that. I really do appreciate you guys and what you have been doing - and everything from the current CSM has been great, which has been very refreshing!
What I am trying to say the most is that I would like to see more industry folks on the CSM. There's been a lot of industry updates, changes, additions and now we have upcoming drilling platforms - so I feel that it would be very beneficial to have a more strong industrial minded players to the table.

Rosewalker, thank you for your questions. I hope I can answer them all below. Sorry for the slow response, I got a bit busy with RL stuff past couple days.
1. At least one member of the current CSM has stated that citadels make moving capital ships too risk-free. As someone who not only runs her own jump freighter service but is involved in alliance-level logistics, do you think any changes need to be made to citadels where long-distance hauling is concerned?
I do agree that citadels have made it more risk free to move capitals, especially with being able to tether to it regardless if it's a ship class that can dock in it or not (ie: cyno a capital on a medium citadel it can't dock in, but with 1 click you are tethered safely anyways) - which I have done this myself. A thought that I had was similar to stations and cyno's (when you cyno onto a station, you have a timer that you have to wait before you can dock up [If you don't think that timer matters: see video ]) - perhaps adding that same timer to citadels and tethering? Probably not a popular idea there (and even myself , not going to lie, I love tethering <3), but it's just a thought that I did have on this instance.
That aside, and on the next part of the question, I don't really think much needs to be changed in reguards to long distance hauling and I think the jump and fatigue timers do well in preventing be able to go from point A to point B in no time.
2. A lot of people, including yourself, think that planetary interaction needs to be revamped. If elected and CCP Seagull were to ask you what priority to give a planetary interaction upgrade, what would you tell her? Should it be a high, medium, or low priority?
I would say that it should be on high priority personally. It's one of those things that literally has had no love. The closest thing that I can think of as of writing this, is the POCO's. It does desperately need a revamp.
3. CCP has made many changes, from new structures to the recent rorqual upgrade, designed to make null sec more self-sufficient industrially. Do you think CCP has done enough, or are there additional changes you would like to see?
It's definitely gotten better for sure. It's hard to say what else I would like to see when we haven't really seen too much of the drilling platforms for one or the other new structures that were talked about yet. On the topic of drilling platforms, I'd also like to see how it would do things like reactions where currently we have to use various types of silo's depending on what we want.
4. In your thread, Sullen Decimus was insulted because you didnGÇÖt know about the work that CSM did concerning industry. Honestly, I had not heard anything about any work the CSM did on industry (or much of anything else) either. What do you think the CSM should do to publicize their activities better?
CCP has said in a few instances that CSM has played an important role in the discussions related to industry and the structures, we also have the 'role call' that are posted of meetings - but I do agree that I would like to see more activity publicized (ie: who/what/extent), but it's hard to say because there are also NDA limitations on what can even be discussed outside.
5. As someone who concentrates mainly in null sec, do you think you have enough experience to be able to discuss issues outside of null sec with the developers?
I do concentrate mainly in nul-sec, but I do feel like do have enough experience, yes, to be able to also discuss issues outside of nul-sec as well. While it has been a while, I have lived and done industry in low-sec as well as high-sec.
Thank you once again!

I have always enjoyed looking at the reports personally because I just found it interesting to see all the ISK flows around the game. I won't turn down graph porn.
That said tho, I also haven't really use the stats other than to feed my graph porn quota. It's sad that they aren't going to be doing the regional stats anymore, but I don't see it having too much effect really overall. While not to same extent, we do have other resources to also get similar data for those who use it.

Fancy Looking Ganker wrote:--
Thank you for your questions!
To first point out about the 'gamer girl' bit. I want to clear this: I do not like the term 'gamer girl' - and when you hear my Talking in Stations interview, I actually cringed when Materall brought it up asking how me being a girl effected me - but I answered anyways because I'm not wanting to turn down a question, I also mentioned in the interview how I dislike the term. To me, it doesn't matter if you are male of female, we all play together as a whole. I do admit that during interviews I do get a little bit 'giggly' but that is also my nervousness and anxiety kicking in. This happens to me IRL as well - it is a hurdle that I have to try to overcome - but I can assure that once I am over that hurdle of interviews - It's a whole other ballgame and I am a very hard worker and focused.
This is the same for the CSM watch interviews - anxiety and panic came over me on top of hearing difficulties - it was pretty much a disaster and I wish it would have went better. So I have nothing really much to say on that bit other than jumping over that hurdle to overcome this. Despite the anxiety and panic ridden interviews, I am 100% confident that once I can get past the interviews/debates/ect, I will have no issues working with CCP and doing the job at hand. I am hearing impaired, however, I do not feel that will hinder me from being able to still do the work - I just may have to ask someone to repeat sometimes if I don't catch something.
I am a moderator for B4R, yes, but I also do a lot more than just virtual hugs and cookies - a lot of my time on there is also spent listening to people and just being there for people who need it. There is a lot more to that. In regards to banning, I first have to say on the note of B4R, it is a channel that is held to a higher standard because of the nature of the community. But with that said however, it takes a lot more than a few 'bad words' for me to actually ban someone - and anyone who knows me can vouch for me on that regards.
The reason I keep running? Because this is something that I want to do. Yes I want to give back to the community. Being a part of the community has helped me so much - from when I first joined and having people taking the time to help me out, to being able to actually open up more. Before I came to Eve, I was basically a hermit - I would never talk on voice unless absolutely needed because I used to get anxious just at the idea of speaking - but being with this community has dome something for me - it's changed me for the better. I can't explain it. I went from being a quiet fly on the wall to being someone that sometimes my own corp mates have to tell me to shut up. So yes, I want to give back to the community that has done so much for me - and having this opportunity to be able to do this as a voice for the community that I love would mean a lot to me. So this is why I will keep running and won't give up despite the hurdles that I have to go through.
I also feel that my reason is good enough - I feel that I am knowledgeable about the game to be able to provide the feedback to CCP. I also look at things differently, and by that, meaning accessibility. I go over in my head how things can be improved or worked on to better be accessible to other players of other walks of life. I feel that this type of mindset would be very valuable - it's also a area that has never had any real representation. I also feel this answer goes over how I would be able to provide constructive feedback for CCP as they progress through the road-map.
I am also more than willing to talk on voice and I also frequent Eve Radio's public TS at voice.gamingradio.net if you wish to join to get to know me a little bit more.
Thank you!

My question - what is your viewpoint regarding Faction standings and as a CSM member, what changes will you propose to CCP pertaining to game mechanics for Faction standings ?
Good luck to you in the upcoming CSM election.

I think it's a hit and miss with regards to faction standings. In my time with mission running I have always personally avoided missions that would result in standing loss - as someone who does logistics around the map in high sec I am very careful in that respects with what would happen if I were to dip my status with a faction too low and end up getting shot. Risk vs. reward.
It's a pretty steep consequence to have standing hits from missions - but at the same time, there has to be some risk involved with shooting other factions - Obviously if you shoot at Caldari NPC's, it's only natural that your standings would get messed up, I mean, you shot their friends!
I also remember back when standings effected if you could make jump clones or not and how I busted by butt in missions to get the standings needed for NPC corps to make those clones in high sec only to have them not matter later on - don't get me wrong, I love that you can make jump clones anywhere now regardless - but there was also this rewarding feeling when you finally get to that point where you have reached your goal past from what you could get in the LP store.
The rewards you seem to only get now that matter are the LP store credits and less of the feeling of accomplishment like how I felt when I got my standings for the clones, or even a corp working together to place a POS up in HS. But if you loose enough standings you become a target. I would like to see there be a easier way to regain those standings.

I'm slightly confused at your response, you brought up things that I did talk about. Tho I noticed that you are copy and pasting the same response around. That aside, I did talk about the consequence that you face and how I do feel that the feeling of reward isn't the same as it used to be. That's my viewpoint.
What changes I would bring up? To make it easier to regain standings or/and to bring back a way to have that feeling of reward again someway (ie. having standings matter - bringing back a sense of reward when you work up your standings). How exactly - well I'm not sure how to 100% answer that. CSM aren't mini-developers, and to try to 'promise' something isn't right. What I can do provide the feedback to CCP on the topic.
Thanks :)

Sorry if my copy and paste offended you, it's merely done for time efficiency since there's a lot of candidates to review.. Also most answers to my question are very similar.
Anyway, I agree with what you've posted here and once again I wish you good luck in the upcoming election.

It didn't offend me, but more curious since some of the mentions were stuff that I did talk about.
Thank you very much for the questions!

With that said tho, PI is also one of the areas that has been pretty much untouched for years, and it really is time for a overhaul - Time to upgrade! No it's not. Some UI facelift - yeah, sure. But dont touch the system core. It's very robust, it survived Citadel and Ascension, please dont ruin it now. I honestly dont think CCP has developers pool that can work with such features atm. Let them first clean the mess they made in the mineral market. And we're yet to witness the maihem in moongoo. Also, combining engineering complexes with Crius production was not smooth at all. If you add PI on top of that, it'd be a perfect storm. Just dont do it.
PI does need improvement overall in my opinion; and many others do agree as well. I don't see what I mentioned ruining it, but a few things that could improve it's overall 'quality of life' - which that said tho, I do agree that we haven't seen yet what the new moongo changes are going to do to the moongoo market and I'm still very anxious to hear more details on the drilling platforms as we don't have too much info on them just yet.

Having negative Faction standings affects a lot of players in-game and repairing those standings is definitely a large task to complete. Most players in-game don't read the forums so they don't even know about the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' guide. Also new players can easily mess up their Faction standings right at the start without even knowing it.
These are some options I think would help players in-game.
Faction standing repair be implemented in-game to be very intuitive, not obscure (tutorial perhaps). Changes to Faction standings be brought to players attention with on screen pop up message (option to deactivate). Any action that would cause negative Faction standing will trigger on screen pop up warning (option to deactivate). All Anti-Empire missions should have a warning alerting players that those missions will incur negative Faction standings. Your idea to have Tags for Standings is acceptable if similar to Tags for Security. CCP add NPC Agents to in-game Agent Finder for Faction standing repair (similar to proposal in my forum signature).
Just wanted to pass that along to you. Once again good luck with the up-coming election.

Thank you once again, and for sure, would love to have better options at repairing the standings as well.

Personally, I think it's still too early to really say. We don't really have too many details to go off of to speculate on how it will impact the market yet. I'd like to see more information on the drilling platforms before I guess/speculate.

Cochise Chiricahua wrote:07 Candidate! First, thank you for your time and effort (both present and future) in representing the capsuleers of New Eden! TheyGÇÖre much appreciated. IGÇÖm preparing to cast my vote in the CSM12 elections. After reading the information you submitted, though, I still have a question. By way of background, I started in Eve as a hauler, moving freight in T1 industrials and gradually working my way up in both ships and cargo. However, I repeatedly found my progress impeded by gankers who would destroy my ship and steal my cargo. In low- and null-sec space, thatGÇÖs to be expected. You place your bet and take your chances. In high-sec space, however, this is very frustrating. Why have high-sec space at all then? This frustration drove me into anti-ganking, and IGÇÖve been a proud member of Thomas en Chasteaux's High-Sec Militia for several months now. So, my question. Where do you stand on high-sec ganking? IGÇÖll concede that ganking is a legitimate style of game play, as CCP has ruled. But I also feel that it should be difficult and dangerous (for the ganker) in the 30% of New Eden designated as high-sec space. In particular, IGÇÖd like to see CCP tweak the game mechanics so that the criminal flag generated by looting a ganked freighter in high-sec space follows all players who handle that loot, and otherwise make looting more realistic. ( Thomas en Chasteaux's ideas, not mine.) As a member of the CSM, would you present such an idea to CCP? Would you push for its adoption? What other game changes might you consider to make high-sec ganking more difficult and less profitable? Regards, Cochise Chiricahua.
I've been a victim of high-sec ganking myself, where one you can see here. The more recent one have happened on my neutral hauler (which I can't link ), but with that said, I do think thank ganking, as you said too, is a valid style of gameplay.
As a hauler you have to take your own precautions; like only carrying so much value (ie: don't stuff your freighter to the brim of shiney goods), and make more than one trip if necessary, and even go as far as having a buddy with you to web you on gates so get yourself off the gate and in warp faster. JF's also have their own defense as well with being able to bail if you sense danger. We have the tools and knowledge we need to protect ourselves.
The idea of flagging loot that was a part of a gank is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how that will work overall and it doesn't seem ideal. I tried to search for the ideas that you mentioned by Thomas on the site you linked, but I didn't see anything, perhaps you can link it?
I think it's hard to find the right balance of risk vs. reward - though in regards to ganking what I would like CCP to look into is the bumping mechanic again as it's still very possible to keep a freighter bumped nonstop.
